Solid waste bulky item center and convenience sites are for use by Stephens County Residents Only.
Stephens County provides solid waste collection and disposal services for the unincorporated areas of the county with five convenience centers for household solid waste and a bulky item drop-off center for items too large for disposal at the convenience centers.
Acceptable bulky items include appliances, furniture, mattresses, large toys, trampolines, bathtubs, toilets, and similar items. However, the following items are not accepted at the bulk item drop-off center: tires, free-flowing liquids, household garbage, yard waste (including brush, leaves, and limbs), demolition or construction materials, boats, trailers, vehicles, or any item requiring a title or bill of sale.
The bulky items drop-off center is located at 1597 Scenic Drive at the Road Department and is open Monday – Thursday from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., closed on Fridays and weekends. This will be for residential use only. Call 706-886-9491 for information. The fee for disposal is $20.00 per truck load with check-in at the Public Works Office.
Stephens County operates five convenience centers (collection sites). The convenience sites accept household solid waste produced by residents of the county. Up to 10, 30-gallon bags per person per day are allowed at each site.
